Parhelia–more commonly known as “sundogs” or “sun dogs”–are weather phenomena most commonly seen in remote, cold places. The founder of Parhelia is from one such remote cold place and began drinking rum at a young age, not only to capture the spirit of tropical areas where sugarcane is mostly commonly grown but also as an opportunity to meditate. Parhelia views spirits less as a vehicle to consume alcohol (though occasionally we enjoy that aspect!) and more as a culinary experience that captures the essence of particular agricultural products at particular moments in time. The key figure in our bottles is a rendering of a parhelion, which is visible on all of our releases.

Parhelia Spirits is a very small family business run by spirits enthusiasts for spirits enthusiasts. We created this business to bring a greater diversity of alcohol products to the United States than are available to the U.S. public. In fact, in our early conversations seeking casks, we consistently said “we want the weird stuff!” This is reflected in the products we offer
