Ridgecrest RR Estate Reserve Riesling - 2023 (750ml)
Ridgecrest RR Estate Reserve Riesling - 2023 (750ml)
A sweet red apple aroma is counterpointed by the wine's petrol and straw notes. Crunching acidity almost takes your breath away as flavors of lemon verbena tea and rhubarb tarts wash over the palate. Can a wine taste icy? If so, here's the poster child for chill. — Michael Alberty
There’s a reason we leave this Riesling for a year in bottle before we release it, and when you open it you’ll see why. The big sister to our Ridgecrest Riesling, the RR Estate Reserve Riesling is a bit drier, a bit more intense on the acid, and a bit more complex. In this version, the nose opens with orange blossom, white peach, candle wax, and white, dusty flower. The palate mirrors the nose, showing Asian pear, petrol, thyme, white grape juice, peach, and talc. The length goes on for days, and is round, rich, bright, and weighty. 2022 will age with the best of any vintages, thanks to a cooler and later harvest, and plenty of acid!
