Domaine Rion Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Terres Blanches - 2021 (750ml)
There is a little more Pinot Blanc (30%) in the blend of the 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Terres Blanches due to the frost. This is a major step up from the Bourgogne Blanc - far more complexity with honeysuckle, candle wax and orange pith. The palate still has a bit of of CO2, but there is fine acidity, quite pithy with Nashi pear and wild peach towards the finish. Enjoy over the next decade. - Neal Martin Nov '22
Tasting notes
Crystal clear and bright, the wine is pale gold with green tints in its youth, becoming progressively more golden with age.
The initial nose is light and floral, evolving into notes of ripe citrus and tart clementines. As the wine ages, the aromas turn to white peaches and elderberries.
The palate is rich with a noticeable freshness. The chardonnay component brings structure and a lovely. With a bit of age, minerality, with the pinot blanc adding complexity. The wine impressed with its depth, richness, complexity, length and individuality.
Drinking tips
Ideal for accompanying seafood, from the simplest – shrimp and prawns – to the most elegant, such as lobster and scallops. It goes equally well with white meats such as veal or rabbit, and with cheeses.
