Madson Gamay Noir Cienega Valley - 2025 (750ml)

Based in Santa Cruz and run by winemaker Cole Thomas and his partners/viticulturists Ken Swegles & Abbey Chrystal.  All of their vineyards are farmed using 100% organic practices, including using only ecologically-based pest controls and biological fertilizers including animal waste and nitrogen-fixing cover crops. Furthermore, they have adopted regenerative farming practices in order to care for the environment beyond the vineyards themselves.

This wine is tricky good and could surprise even most experts or industry insiders into thinking it was very good Cru Beaujolais.  Coming from the Cienega valley, one of the oldest AVAs in California, this is 100% Gamay.  It has the unique crunchy, fresh-fruit vibe of Gamay with bright acidity and a dynamic balance on the palate between that acid and fine-grained mouth-watering tannin.  Super appetizing in flavor and texture this will bloom at the table.
