Tennessee was well under Prohibition by 1915 and it was becoming increasingly obvious it would eventually spread to the whole country. Despite what looked like a dim future, Lem Motlow (Mr. Jack’s nephew) still believed in the whiskey and the Distillery he had inherited from his uncle. In a whiskey competition held in London that year, Jack Daniel’s once again won top honors. The fifth Gold Medal won by Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey is commemorated by this 750ml bottle, released in 2002. - jackdaniels.com

In 1915 the Distillery would win its second award in London, and fifth overall. Awarded the Certificate of the Institute of Hygiene, the commemorative bottle celebrating this achievement was released in 2002.
Beginning in 1996 and continuing for the next 10 years, the Jack Daniel Distillery released its Gold Medal Series of commemorative bottles. Comprised of seven unique designs, each bottle in this series celebrates a different gold medal won by the Distillery. In the U.S., the series featured 750ml bottles filled with 90 proof whiskey. International markets offer these bottles only in a 1 liter size, with the exception of the first bottle in the series which was available only in the 750ml size.
Hard hit by Prohibition, for decades American Whiskey has been primarily thought of as a Southern staple rather than a world class spirit. Now whether you're looking for a Rye, Bourbon, or even a Single Malt, you'll find a large range from a number of distilleries, from North to South and from the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts.
