Owned by the Mitchell family of Springbank and located next door, this complex malt is full of chocolate and orange on the nose, with honey and dates that carry on to the smooth and rich flavors. Very special!
Who's chocolate orange is this? Dark chocolate, marzipan, honey covered dates and strawberries build up to a rich and sweet ginger preserve. A very complex nose that doesn't stop developing in the glass.
The honey covered dates return on the palate mixed with sultanas and black treacle fudge. This dram is as wholesome and tasty as warm, toasted cinnamon and raisin bagel with real butter melting on top.
Medium, well balanced and round finish, presence of dark chocolate but surprisingly no evidence of peat.
Once the epicentre of Scotland's whisky industry, Campletown has now diminished to three distilleries: Springbank, Glen Scotia and the newly established Glengyle, which, when ready, will be bottled under the name Kilkerran.
Single malts, made by a single distillery and from 100% malted barley, comprise the majority of our selection. However you will also find a number of popular blended Scotches as well as some very special one-off, single barrel, single malts from independent bottlers.
