It's dry with fine-grained tannins and energetic acidity. Serve it slightly below room temperature with grilled lamb chops as the wine's mineral clarity and bright red fruit will enhance the meat's savory richness beautifully, or pair it with aged Pecorino cheese where the wine's elegant structure and persistent finish will complement the cheese's crystalline complexity perfectly. Elisabetta Geppetti, affectionately known as "The Lady of Morellino" and "Ambassador of Maremma," crafts this wine from 100% Sangiovese grown in the Poggio Valente vineyard she purchased in 1996, located at 280-300 meters elevation on sandy soils facing southwest toward the medieval village of Pereta. Working alongside oenologist Luca D'Attoma since 2012, she matures this wine for 15 months in large oak tonneaux (20% new) followed by an additional 12 months in bottle, a shift away from smaller barrels that allows for more varietal expression and luminous elegance.
