Diamantes Magoutes Xinomavro - 2020 (750ml)

Winemaker Dimitrios Diamantis recovered his grandfather's centennary vineyards starting in the 1990s with a focus on nearly extinct Moschomavro and Nigrikiotiko in addition to the more widely known Xinomavro.  All of the production uses organic methods, with only  low intervention techniques used in the winery: spontaneous fermentations without the use of enzymes, clarifiers, or other invasive processes.

Further in the the starting in the 21st Century, Dimitrios has pushed to create PDO Siatista, what would be the fifth Xinomavro, or Xinomavro-based appellation in Greece (after Naoussa, Rapsani, Goumenissa, and Amyndeon).  The size of this historic growing region is tiny, at around 200 Hectares, about the same size as Condrieu.
