The name is a nod to our founder’s chance encounter with a man in the South of Spain, where he was introduced to Sherry for the first time.
Years later, John was reacquainted with Sherry through whiskies aged in former Sherry casks, known for the rich, deep flavours they provide. It's a style of whisky John has been drawn to ever since.
Based on a bespoke blend made for the New York City restaurant The Spaniard, this permanent addition to the Compass Box portfolio nods to Spain's wine culture, aging some of the Scotch in former Sherry or Spanish red wine casks. The end result is a honeyed hue and remarkably rich, concentrated aromas of Sherried fruit, orange peel and orange blossom.
