The first aromas to emerge are a rural mix of fresh straw, beeswax and wet clay soil. Then the fruit kicks in, with pineapple, lime and mint aromas holding court. There's a nice bit of citrusy acidity here to support sweet-tart flavors, such as tangerines and Golden Delicious apple slices, drizzled with a spot of honey. Our Estate Reserve Riesling section for 2024 highlights the warmth and delicacy of the vintage. The nose offers dried apricot and pineapple, prickly pear, white flowers, lime zest, and white pepper. On the palate, the wine is lithe and lean, bringing together wet slate, Asian pear, honeycomb, and star fruit, with a smooth and easy mid-palate. The finish is less acid-driven than some previous years, but has a bounty of ripe green fruit, fresh cut herbs, and the mineral backbone we all love. A slight balancing sugar finishes the palate, perfect for being chilled and enjoyed by the pool, or an amazing partner to spice-driven foods.- Wynne
