This blend of Chardonnay from eight vineyards across the Western Cape has multiple layers and enough acidity to balance its richness. Aromas of tropical fruit, cinnamon, ginger and vanilla shine on the nose. The palate is abundant in baking spices and offers light notes of stone fruit. — Jesica Vargas
The 2020 Chardonnay was whole-bunch-pressed and underwent ten months in 38% new French oak barrels with regular racking. This has a very composed bouquet that takes a little encouragement: lime, Golden Delicious and hints of melted wax coming through with time. The palate is well balanced with an appealing, slightly creamy texture. The oak here is nicely judged, leading to a linear, surprisingly strict finish. Very fine. - By Neal Martin on August 2024
