Product Review
Bright copper. Elegant and smooth. Soft green fruit with mint, oak and freshly cut barley. Sweet chocolate and mint with oak and honey. Long, soft and warm. My top choice as the quintessential Lowland Single Malt; it doesn't get better.
F. Paul Pacult, Spirit Journal Bright copper. Ripe gooseberry with sweet vanilla and freshly cut barley. Light chocolate and soft green fruit on the palate with a twist of old oak and honey. A long finish with real depth of character.

Although Lowland Scotland used to be a hive of activity when it came to whisky production, there are now only three distilleries in operation. Auchentoshan, just west of Glasgow, Bladnoch, in Wigtown on the Solway Firth, and Glenkinchie, 30 minutes drive east from Edinburgh. Although mothballed, occasionally rare bottlings from the Littlemill, Rosebank, and St. Magdalene distilleries will appear on the market. Lowlands are very slightly peated and generally light in body but can offer expressive aroma of grass, flowers, citrus, and apple.
Single malts, made by a single distillery and from 100% malted barley, comprise the majority of our selection. However you will also find a number of popular blended Scotches as well as some very special one-off, single barrel, single malts from independent bottlers.
