Reservoir Distillery 'Maison de Cuivre' Wine Cask Finish Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)

Bursting with the flavor of juicy red fruits from the barrel’s previous Cab Franc grapes, our newest release of Reservoir's red wine-finished whiskey still pours out the velvety smooth toffee, tobacco, and oak notes imbued within our bourbon with one special exception--a tiny spicy kick of rye accompanies the nearly all-corn mashbill.

This heavenly batch is a blend of 2016 and 2020 Barrel Mill 10-gallon casks filled with our 100% corn bourbon melding with 1% of rye from a 2020 53-gallon barrel. A rare recipe for us.  

Nose: Vanilla and apple peel mix with the spiciness of black tea and nutmeg and just a touch of raspberry jam.

Palate: Luscious vanilla custard with notable stone fruits and baking spices coming through while an interesting note of herbal maté makes an appearance.

Finish: A lovely pop of cinnamon shows up on the back-end with a touch of black pepper accompanying it. Leather and tobacco emerge and flavor of a Red Delicious apple lingers long after that sip disappears.

Maison de Cuivre (The Copper House) is an LTO of our Reservoir Bourbon finished in French oak casks--a 'limited time offering' long on flavor, but not long in stock. Less than 100 bottles for sale!
