With its special artist-designed label, the Planeta 2024 Sicilia Menfi Chardonnay "30 Trentesima Vendemmia" celebrates the 30th harvest of Planeta’s revolutionary Chardonnay. The flame reproduces On Fire (2023) by Claire Fontaine, a conceptual artist collective founded in Paris and now based in Palermo. The original light sculpture is displayed at the Studiolo Ulysses in Ulmo, a memorial space dedicated to the late Vito Planeta and his deep engagement with contemporary art (and love of James Joyce). The wine is aged in 225-liter Allier oak barriques, with 40% new oak, 30% second passage and 30% third passage. The oak remains prominent, contributing to the opulent yet silky softness that has long distinguished Planeta Chardonnay. It also delivers ripe apricot, baked apple and toasted almond all wrapped in a creamy, medium- to full-bodied texture.
