This medium yellow colored wine has a nose of lemon zest, pink grapefruit and honeysuckle. It is soft on the palate, with flavors of white peach, mango, orange blossom and milk chocolate that dissipate into a bright, flower-strewn finish. — Mike DeSimone
Alvaredos-Hobbs is the collaboration between renowned winemaker and consultant Paul Hobbs and Galician viticultor Antonio López Fernández. Galicia is arguably one of the most compelling white wine-producing areas of Spain. The 2019 Godello from Alvaredos-Hobbs is rich, full-bodied, luscious, refreshing, and laden with lively citrus, pink grapefruit, and honeysuckle flavors. The minerality is well balanced with the acidity. A long finish completes the delectable experience. (Miranda Franco)

A vibrant, aromatic white grape indigenous to the north west of Spain and Portugal. Despite nearly being killed off by phylloxera in the early 20th century its plantings are now rapidly increasing thanks to a movement promoting the traditional varieties of Galicia. The subregion of Valdeorras has the largest area under vines and produces some of most expressive examples. In addition to making the Portugese table wines of Alentejo and Dao, where it goes by the name Gouveio, it is also blended with Malvasia Fina and Viosinho to make white Port.
Bierzo's most well known grape is the Mencía. So popular that it occupies almost two-thirds of the vineyards. Cultivated almost solely in northwestern Spain it has only recently been recognized as a respected grape variety known for it's fresh fruity notes, smooth tannins and minerally terroir. Some Bierzo producers are proving that with the right balance of oak it can also age well. Garnacha Tintorera, Godello, Doña Blanca, Malvasía, Palomino and, to a lesser extent, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo varieties can also be found in the region.
White wine is a wine whose color can be pale-yellow, yellow-green, and yellow-gold colored. The wine is produced from a variety of grape varieties. The flavor and color comes from the juice of the grape and sometimes the skin of the grape as well. Interestingly, not all white wine comes from white grapes. Some select red grapes are used as in Champagne.
