Mazzei Castello di Fonterutoli Mix 36 Sangiovese - 2013 (750ml)

This unique expression of Sangiovese grown on the Castello di Fonterutoli Estate, is a blend of 36 bio-types of Sangiovese. It is grown at the Vico Regio Estate and has since the 2013 vintage has become an Chianti Classico Gran Selezione (100% estate grown and minimum 30 months aging in oak). The 2013 Mix 36, a blend of 36 Sangiovese biotypes on the property, is terrific. Bright, translucent and light on its feet, the 2013 speaks to finesse above all else. Expressive floral notes add lift, and the wine continues to open up in the glass. This beautifully rendered Sangiovese shows what Mazzei can do in a more understated style.
