This is our classic wine. The oldest of the Domain’s wines, it was created during the 1970s to highlight the long-standing family vineyard. Vines for this wine are located in the heart of the appellation, facing those we first replanted. Les Vieilles Vignes is a wine that reflects our history and our winemaking know-how.

• Maturation in 228-litre barrels for 20 months, with 10% new barrels.
• Amount of sulphite reduced: 59 mg/l total SO2 (100 mg/litre authorised in organic winemaking).

The 2021 Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes is cut from the same cloth yet brings another level of density. Blackberries, blueberries, violets, scorched earth, and graphite all define the aromatics, and it's medium bodied, with a great mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a great finish. I put this up with the best in the vintage.

93 points Wine Spectator

An elegant nose of steeped cherry and cassis is layered with dried bay leaf and rosemary, propped up by a wall of iron and iodine mineral. A leaner style in line with the vintage, this is sanguine and complex, with a lashing of salt. Best from 2025 through 2032. 1,400 cases made, 200 cases imported.

92 points Vinous Media

The 2021 Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes fared well in this challenging vintage. Part of the reason is that no Les Vieilles Fontaines was produced that year, and all those grapes went into this cuvée. Ripe black fruits mingle with crushed violets, pencil shavings, iodine and meaty gradations. Medium-bodied at most, the refreshing 2021 is exceptionally light on its feet and dazzles with an elegant finish. - Nicolas Greinacher October 2023
