Famed vineyard manager Ulises Valdez owns and cares for this Vineyard with an uncommon attention to detail and meticulous farming practices demanded by this extraordinary site. Silver Eagle is a thirty-acre vineyard situated among the rolling hills north of Occidental, in the Green Valley viticulture area, at the western edge of the Sonoma Coast. Our blocks within the vineyard are positioned in very low-vigor sections and planted in tight formation in Goldridge soils, resulting in small clusters and intense flavors. Pinot noir clones Calera and a unique Vosne-Romanee clone were blended together to create this complex wine with intense structure and distinctive character. Cool, coastal breezes and fog help control yields for excellent balance and concentration. This wine has depth and complexity, with aromas of red and blue fruit, Asian spices and a touch of earth.
