Donnachadh Estate Syrah Rose - 2024 (750ml)

The 2024 Rosé of Syrah is bright and juicy. Delicate aromas of rose petals, fresh strawberries, cherries and watermelon. The fruit on the palate is balanced by vibrant acidity and a luxurious, creamy mouthfeel. The grapes go straight to the press, so skin contact time is minimal, yet the wildness and structure you expect from a Syrah are clearly present in the background of this refreshing wine. Our steep, cool, hillside blocks of Syrah make for a great rosé — allowing the grapes to develop ripe, satisfying fruit flavors at refreshingly low alcohol levels (12.5% this year).

2024 was a long, cool growing season in the Sta Rita Hills. We had a slight heat wave in early September, but the Syrah was so far from being ripe that it barely noticed. These grapes are all clone 383 from the hillside. Harvested in late October, the wine aged in stainless steel, remaining on the lees until just before bottling.
