(2018 vintage) "The syrah (20% of the blend) and the cabernet sauvignon (30%) come from vineyards planted in 2000 on the highest slopes of the Neyen property in the Apalta zone, in the heart of the Colchagua Valley. The carmenere (50% of the blend) comes from very old vines planted more than 80 years ago on the alluvial terraces of the Tinguiririca River in the Apalta plains. From a year that was generally very good for Chilean reds, this has a delicious concentration of black fruits accompanied by spicy tones that lend complexity along with a touch of herbs as well as firm texture and acidity that's strong enough to refresh.
