Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre Cabernet Sauvignon - 2020 (750ml)
Jean Leon Vinya Le Havre Cabernet Sauvignon - 2020 (750ml)
Jean Leon set sail for the USA as a stowaway from the French port of Le Havre, where he was soon discovered by a sailor who decided to help him stay hidden. This Reserva pays homage to the silent complicity of a stranger who would change Jean Leon's life forever.
Made from Cabernet Sauvignon and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc, this limited-production wine is produced from a unique 12-hectare terroir bearing the same name.
Planted in 1968, Vinya le Havre was among the first sites extensively planted with French grapes in Penedes. The 2020 Vinya la Havre, composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20$ Cabernet Franc, was aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Garnet in hue, it offers ash and balsamic aromas with cigar, pyrazine, white pepper and undergrowth notes, all set against an oaky backdrop. Dry and plush on the palate, the voluminous and fine-grained tannins lead to delightful, long-lasting finish. This is a savory, classically styled red wine. - Joanquin Hidalgo April '24
