Jean Leon Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon - 2016 (750ml)
Jean Leon Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon - 2016 (750ml)
The Beverly Hills restaurant founded by Jean Leon that lends its name to this Gran Reserva has long been a meeting place for artists and non-conformist souls.
In the painting that adorns the 2016 vintage, August Rosell captures a wide view of the iconic La Scala vineyard, with the winery standing in the background against the Penedès landscape. The colours and lush vegetation are reminiscent of a late spring afternoon under a grey and pink sky. A homage to the first vineyard planted by Jean Leon and Jaume Rovira in 1963.
The 2016 Vinya La Scala is 100%Cabernet Sauvignon from a site planted in 1963. It spent 28 months in French oak barrels. Garnet in hue, it offers aromas of cassis and currant, with oak, spice, undergrowth and balsamic notes. Dry and ample, with plush, fine-grained tannins, this wine exemplifies a classic style. It's rich and grippy on the palate, delivering a long-lasting, flavorful finish. - Joaquin Hidalgo April '24
