Pássaros Alvarinho Loureiro is made from two of the best white varieties in the region: Alvarinho and Loureiro. The grape variety Alvarinho cames from the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço. The Loureiro grape variety is located in our vineyards in the Lima sub-region with granitic soils, deep and poor in organic matter. By combining these two varieties we get a fresh and aromatic wine but with structure and body which enables it to become the perfect partner for the table or by its own.
Handpicked grapes into small boxes and carried to the winery in a short period of time. Total de-stemmning. Soft pressing of the whole grape. Extreme cold must clarification. Long fermentation at low temperatures: 12-16ºC. Minimum 3-month ageing on fine lees with regular bâtonnage.
Tasting notes
Floral and fruity aromas with a strong presence of citric aromas. Fresh and light mouth full of minerality. Ends long and light.

Loureiro is a dry white grape from Spain. It is used primarily to create Vinho Verde though it is also used as to produce varietal wine. Loueiro is often characterized by its fresh acidity paired with notes of apricot and elderflower.

White wine is a wine whose color can be pale-yellow, yellow-green, and yellow-gold colored. The wine is produced from a variety of grape varieties. The flavor and color comes from the juice of the grape and sometimes the skin of the grape as well. Interestingly, not all white wine comes from white grapes. Some select red grapes are used as in Champagne.
