A stunning Dalwhinnie from Diageo's Special Releases, this was launched in 2012. It was distilled in 1987 before a 25-year maturation, and the result garnered a Best in Classic at the International Wine and Spirits Competition.
Nose - Apple tarte tatin, hints of sanded oak and a little heather honey. Allspice, hints of cocoa and rum and raisin ice-cream. Waxy.
Palate - Black pepper and barley malt. Hints of beeswax, manuka honey and dessert wine. Spiced, warming palate. Slightly grassy.
Finish - Medium finish with notes of caramel and cinnamon.

The Highlands is a large region that produces the widest range of styles. From light and citrussy, to rich and complex, there is enough to keep both the novice and connoisseur busy exploring everything the region has to offer.

Single malts, made by a single distillery and from 100% malted barley, comprise the majority of our selection. However you will also find a number of popular blended Scotches as well as some very special one-off, single barrel, single malts from independent bottlers.
