Aromas of black fruit, anise, vanilla, cocoa and other barrel spices are followed by pitch-black, rich, hedonistic fruit flavors that bring the acidity and tannin structure of the vintage. It's intense, but with plenty of sophistication. A lengthy finish caps it off. Best after 2025. — Sean P. Sullivan

Product Review
A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Syrah and 15% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Chester Kidder has a rich, classic core full of black fruit, with a soft dustiness and a clear line of minerality through the center. The palate remains mineral-driven with subtle notes of savory spice giving way to structuring tannins. The sweet oak tones align with dusty blackberries and soft purple florals on the palate, ending with a long and complex finish with hints of graphite as the tannins grip the gumline and will last for quite some time. It's a beautiful wine. 1,995 cases produced.

Includes red wines where there is either no predominant variety or the blend is proprietary.
Red wine is wine made from dark-coloured grape varieties. The color of red differs based on the grapes variety or varieties used.Interestingly, black grapes yield a juice that is greenish-white. The actual red color comes from anthocyan pigments (also called anthocyanins) from the skin of the grape (exceptions are the relatively uncommon teinturier varieties, which produce a red colored juice). Most of the production centers around the extraction of color and flavor from the grape skin.
