Even though the Old Forester brand has been around since the 1870s, it has only relatively recently gotten the appreciation it deserves. With the brand in decline in the 1970s, parent company Brown-Forman decided to ship much of the production to Japan. Lo and behold: we have a prime example of good but underappreciated export bourbon for an even better price, all the way from Japan, dusty and everything, from the early 1990s.
