Springbank 18 (700ml)

Takes a very long time to open up. Benefits from a mere few drops of water, no more. But boy does it pay off. A truly fine, complex whisky. Very friendly alcohol integration, but perhaps challenging flavors for those not familiar with Campbeltown. The distinctive funk is very much there, but not with the intensity of its 10 and 12 year old brothers. Notes: overripe banana, lemon oil, sheep pen, sea salt, vanilla custard, melon, cantaloupe, wet earth. A bit thin on mouth feel and a medium finish. A terrific whisky. At cask strength it would be mind blowing.
