Big Table Farm Syrahs

In 2006, Brian Marcy and Clare Carver embarked on a journey from Napa Valley to pursue a dream of growing their own grapes, making their own wine, and farming a beautiful piece of land in the Oregon. With Brian having made wine for a decade in California, and Clare—an artist and farmer—in search of more space for their growing cast of animals, they could not pass on the opportunity to acquire 70 acres in the heart of the Willamette Valley.

Since its inception, Brian and Clare have crafted small amounts of age worthy Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and even smaller amounts of Syrah and Pinot Gris. They additionally tend to free-range hens, pasture-raised pigs, goats and sheep, a team of draft horses, bee hives and grass-fed cows. In this ecosystem, Brian and Clare have developed a managed intensive grazing system of farming that builds the soil, sequesters carbon, and moves the Big Table Farm towards a healthy, sustainable and diverse farm and vineyard. In short, Big Table Farm has been living out regenerative farming well before the philosophy came into vogue.
