Baltic Porters were made largely as a result of England’s burgeoning international trade. As breweries began to ship beer across the world they needed a more robust Porter that could be shipped across the North Sea, hence the name Baltic Porter. This style elegant style is characterized by its smoky malts and light bitterness.
