Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Master of Wine, Morgan Twain-Peterson in 2007. In the words of winemaker Twain-Peterson: "Bedrock Wine Co. firmly believes in the philosophy that diversity is the spice of life. The wines I make are not limited to a single caste or single style. Rather, they reflect my eclectic tastes and a general feeling that a broad palate makes for more interesting gustatory experiences."

Initially operating from a small converted chicken coop, Morgan focused on crafting wines with personality from thoughtfully farmed vineyards. Over time, Bedrock transitioned to a tin-sided warehouse and welcomed Chris Cottrell as a partner, along with a dedicated staff.

Bedrock Wine Co. is dedicated to preserving and rehabilitating California’s historic vineyards, planted by viticultural pioneers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These vineyards have survived wars, Prohibition, and market changes, making exceptional wines.

Guiding principles of Bedrock include:

  • Creating true California wines by field-blending Zinfandel with Carignane, Petite Sirah, and other mixed black varietals.
  • Promoting Syrah from great terroirs such as Hudson Vineyard and Bien Nacido.
  • Highlighting Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from unique sites.
  • Crafting precise, aromatic, and food-friendly rosé.
  • Producing exceptional Bordeaux Blanc blends from low-yielding Sauvignon Blanc and ancient vine Semillon.
