Mal Bien 'Ciro & Javier Barranca' Papalote Agave Spirit (750ml)

 After composing a batch of papalote capón, Javier found that he had 30-something liters of puntas leftover. We happened to be visiting while he was composing the batch, and offered to purchase the extra puntas in addition to the batch. By the time we made it to our bodega in Oaxaca, there were only 29 liters. By the time we got around to bottling it, there were only 20 liters. Having personally consumed a third of the batch, we can endorse its quality with confidence.
 After spending much of his 20s living in Chicago, Javier returned to his hometown,  Ahuacuotzintla, to help his grandfather, the legendary Ciro Barranca. While on Ciro passed away in 2022, Javier continues his grandfather’s traditions, distilling in his fabrica, purchasing agave from the families who sold to his family for generations, and hosting the local Alcohólicos Anónimos chapter that his grandfather started below the distillery.
