The newest offering of very unique rums from the historic Hampden Rum distillery. Each Mark, is a unique recipe, registered with the Jamaican government which relates to a specific level of esters or fruity aromatic molecules in the finished rum. Last year saw the release of a set of 8, unaged rums. This year brings the same marks, now having been aged for 1 year in ex-Bourbon cask prior to bottling. These component rums are blended at the distillery to create their annual release of Great House, as well as HLCF Overproof and 8 year expressions.

Made from molasses, it was in finding a use for the byproduct of sugarcane, in the Caribbean, that Rum came into being. Every island has its own distinct style, with each of the island's distilleries producing a further variation . While white rums readily form the base for a number of varied cocktails, dark rums, aged in ex-bourbon and cognac barrels, can take on great depth of flavour. They typically exhibit exotic, tropical-fruit aromas and a warm spiciness that, like any great spirit, is worthy of appreciating on its own.
