The grapes of this wine are growing in the flat area surrounding the town of Dürnstein alongside the river Danube on well drained sandy sediments and gravel. These soils create an aromatical kind of wine characterized by timeless elegance. Early picking causes a moderate alcohol level and a well-integrated bracing acidity. The wine is totally dry, animating and is usually drunk young.
The 2020 Dürnsteiner Grüner Veltliner is clear, fresh and elegant on the fine and balanced nose that reveals flinty as well as ripe white fruit aromas. Juicy, piquant and with tickling grip, this a round and charming Veltliner for immediate pleasures. Pretty floral this year. 12% alcohol. Tasted at the domain in June 2021. Stephan Reinhardt

Grüner Veltliner is usually produced to be very dry with spicy, peppery notes and a beautiful minerality. It is often full-bodied and though it is generally consumed young, with age it can take on aromas and flavors similar to white Burgundies.
White wine is a wine whose color can be pale-yellow, yellow-green, and yellow-gold colored. The wine is produced from a variety of grape varieties. The flavor and color comes from the juice of the grape and sometimes the skin of the grape as well. Interestingly, not all white wine comes from white grapes. Some select red grapes are used as in Champagne.
