This is one of the Cape's best Chardonnays and this current release demonstrates Grant's talents. With greenish tints in the glass, the nose is clearly on a different level to several other Chardonnays that I opened at home. More mineral tension, but cut and race, light scents of Alpine stream and citrus lemon. The palate is taut and fresh with a fine bead of acidity. There is real brightness to this Chardonnay with ample depth and grip on the, yes, Burgundian finish. Thinking Saint-Aubin without the price tag.
