Our Experts
Joe Prebble – General Manager
I’ve been with Schneider’s for nearly ten years and in that time I’ve a developed a passion for anything fermented. As well as tasting more wines than I can remember, I’ve also sat a number of the WSETs courses and am now working towards the Diploma. I’m a huge fan of micro-breweries and the diversity they’ve brought to the beer industry. Having developed a taste for old-world wines, I’m particularly interested in those from the Rhone Valley, Priorat, and Ribera del Duero.
Terry Brown –Wine Manager
My first career as a chef for 10 years allows me to bring a unique insight into wine and food pairing. I have been the wine manager at Schneider’s for 12 years and take great pleasure in selecting a wide range of wine from around the world. I enjoy building long term relationships with my customers and friends, whether providing advice on a bottle for dinner or help to create a cellar. My love for Pinot Noir is transatlantic and I enjoy everything Spanish as well as a number of quirky whites!
Richard Bobrow – Spirits Manager
As a Schneider’s veteran, I oversee our spirits purchasing and the store’s daily operations. Now has never been a more exciting time in the spirits world with the increasing number of distilleries opening up across the country making exciting products. That said, I’m always partial to a good Cognac, a dram of Scotch, and of course a good Kentucky Bourbon.
Felix Milner – New Media Manager
Coming up to my second year I’ve enjoyed helping out on a number of projects, not least managing the content and redesign of our new website. After graduating I started my career in wine at Majestic Wine in London and then a short stint in California. While working in London for a year I sat and passed, with distinction, the Wine & Spirits Education Trust’s (WSET) Advanced certificate. I’m now part way through the Diploma course, the pre-requisite to the Master of Wine. While I’m always on the search for something new, I’m a big proponent of fortifieds, particularly Sherries and Madieras.
Stewart Phillips – Assistant Wine Manager & Beer Director
After starting my career with a year at Nashville’s Midtown Wine and Spirits, I trained at the Professional Culinary Institute of California for the Court of Master Sommelier’s Certified Sommelier. Three years on I’m Schneider’s assistant wine manager and beer buyer, a role that has given me the opportunity to try thousands of wines. Among my favorites are California Cabs, Red Burgundy, and German Riesling.
Tyler Evans – Wine & Spirits Consultant
After two years at Schneider's I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Originally from Oregon, I’ve been exposed to a lot of great wine and beer, but have only really cultivated my passion since moving to DC in spring 2011. I’m now studying for my WSET Intermediate Certificate. While gutsy red wines have always stolen my heart, the charms of White Burgundy and Alsatian Riesling are becoming more apparent.
Megan McConnell – Wine Consultant
As the newest member of Schneiders' team of wine specialists, I'm thankful to be surrounded by colleagues and customers with such a passion for wine. Originally a native to Northern California, I grew up with the Santa Cruz Mountain wine trail in my backyard. Out of college, I managed marketing for the historic Mountain Winery where my passion for wine really budded. However, I only fully immersed myself in a wine career after moving to DC. I'm currently studying for the Wine and Spirits Education Trust's Advanced certificate. I'm particularly fond of Spanish Tempranillos, Argentinian Malbecs and a wide range of aromatic whites.
