Beer in Belgium ranges from one extreme to another including: pale lager, lambic beer, and Flemish red. There are presently at least 180 breweries in the country, ranging from international giants to microbreweries.
Saison is a farmhouse ale that was traditionally brewed in the winter, to be consumed throughout the summer months. It is typified by a light floral character fused with a mildly tart and funky finish.
